Ms. Bohunka O. Goldstein devoted her career to the practice of immigration law and has been a dedicated advocate on behalf of her clients for over twenty-seven years. She has extensive experience in family-based petitions including adoptions, business-based immigration matters, defense in removal proceedings, citizenship applications, as well as non immigrant visas and waivers.
Prior to opening her practice, she worked as a staff attorney for legal services programs in New York City where she represented asylum seekers fleeing persecution and self-petitioning victims of abuse and domestic violence. Before moving to New York City in 1997, Ms. Goldstein was a Fellow at the International Human Rights Law Institute in Chicago and published articles on International Criminal Law and International Humanitarian Law topics. Prior to becoming an attorney, Ms. Goldstein was an adjunct Russian language instructor at Weber State University in Utah.
Ms. Goldstein is a graduate of Northwestern University School of Law in Chicago where she earned a Master of Laws degree in 1996. She also holds a Master’s degree in International Relations and Comparative Politics from Northern Illinois University and a law degree from Charles University in Prague, Czech Republic. Ms. Goldstein has been a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association since 1998. She is admitted to practice in New York. She is fluent in Slovak, Czech and Russian.
